All new hires receive comprehensive onboarding and participate in formal and informal programs that enable them to quickly acclimate to Sims Limited’s culture. This induction includes intensive training in all of the critical aspects of environment, health and safety. 

Sims University

Sims University is our global, internal learning resource that includes both online and class-based curriculum and training, as well as through extensive regional learning opportunities. Sims University enables a culture of continuous learning and development in consultation with senior leaders. 

As each employee progresses through their career, they are provided with functional and professional training courses on an ongoing basis via the Sims University Learning Center. This online training and cultural orientation portal is available to all employees, and it serves as a central repository for ongoing performance and skill-based training. Additionally, Sims Limited offers a comprehensive safety training certification, as well as multi-tiered leadership and management training programs. 

Management Trainee Program

The Management Trainee Program is designed for recent college graduates or experienced professionals who are interested in developing a career in commercial/trading, operations or manufacturing and want a clear path to advancement in a global sustainability company. This program enables the next generation of emerging talent to fully participate and contribute toward our purpose, create a world without waste to preserve our planet. Participants learn side-by-side with industry experts in order to position themselves as future leaders at Sims Limited, within one of our business divisions, or within the sustainability industry.  

Women Leading @ Sims

Women Leading @ Sims is a development program designed to support and develop female leaders. Women are selected during the company’s annual capability review process, and they receive the mentorship and skills needed for their career growth. The women who participate in this program will be able to leverage their strengths to contribute to the overall success of Sims Limited and each of its business divisions.
